ANN conferences bring together hundreds of neonatal and mother baby nurses from across the U.S. and Canada, and around the globe for stimulating and thought-provoking plenary sessions and workshops. Our lively exhibit hall gathers leading vendors ready for face-to-face discussions about the latest products and technology in neonatal care. Our poster and podium sessions allow nurse colleagues the opportunity to share with you their latest research findings and networking opportunities abound. The ANN conference experience will energize, invigorate, and recharge you and your practice! We hope you'll join us!

ABSTRACTS

What is a poster session?
Paper posters are displayed on boards in an area separate from the Exhibit Hall for attendees to view. Posters highlight case studies, research studies and findings, quality improvement projects, or evidence-based procedural changes. You can earn CNE contact hours by viewing the posters and completing an online evaluation of the poster session. Poster authors submit abstracts online during a period prior to the conference. The abstracts are peer-reviewed. View past conference abstracts here.

What is a podium session?
A podium session is an oral presentation that highlights case studies, research studies and findings, quality improvement projects, or evidence-based procedural changes. Podium presentations are offered in workshops during the main conference. There are several presenters for each session and topics vary. Podium presenters submit abstracts online during a period prior to the conference. The abstracts are peer-reviewed.

How will I know if my abstract has been accepted?
You will receive an email from Barbara Mansinne, Conference Director letting you know either way. She will let you know within two weeks after the submission deadline. Please contact her for specific questions about your abstract submission or presentation using the ANN Contact Form.

REGISTRATION

What is the Loyalty Program?
ANN members who attend three conferences in three consecutive years earn a free conference. You must not have a lapse in membership to qualify.

How do I redeem my free conference under the Loyalty Program?
We will notify you by email when you are eligible. If you do not receive an email and think you may be eligible, please contact the ANN national office at conferenceinfo@academyofneonatalnursing.org or 707-795-1421.

What is “Join and Register”?
This registration option will pay for a discounted main conference attendance and a one-year membership with ANN.

Can I switch my session selections?
Yes, if you change your mind about attending the sessions you registered for, you can switch your choices two ways:
1. Up until approximately 10 days before the conference, you can modify your registration online and choose different sessions. You will need your confirmation number and email address.
2. When you are on site at the conference, you are welcome to switch to another session, even if it is a session from a different conference. (Our fall conferences run concurrently at the same venue.) The only restriction to switching sessions on site, would be if a session was full.

How do I obtain a receipt for my paid registration?
When you complete your online registration, you will receive a link to your receipt upon completion of payment. You also receive a link to the receipt in your email confirmation. Until approximately 10 days before the conference, to obtain your receipt you can access it online at the registration link and choose the “Modify Registration” option.

After the conclusion of the conference, you will receive an email from ANN with a link to your receipt.

I did not receive a confirmation for my registration.
Be sure to check your junk or spam folder for your confirmation email. Your email server also may have blocked it.

Please use ANN Contact Form and let us know if you have not received your confirmation email.

SESSIONS/HANDOUTS/CE CREDIT

What are session handouts?
The handouts are the slides that the presenters have provided to us. They are formatted into pages with six slides per page.

How do I get the session handouts?
Registered attendees will receive instructions approximately two weeks before the conference in the “Know Before You Go” email with instructions to download the handouts. You can save them to a mobile device to bring with you or print them and bring the paper handouts. There are no printers available at the conference site. To save you time, and money on paper and ink, the handouts for the sessions are also available on the conference app.

How do I earn my CNE contact hours from the conference?
Participants must be registered for the conference, attend the sessions, and complete an online evaluation at the conclusion of the session or conference to obtain contact hours. Once the evaluation(s) are completed, you can generate a CE Certificate.

What if I can't attend but still want to earn CNE credit?
Please contact the ANN national office (707-795-1421 or conferenceinfo@academyofneonatalnursing.org) and request virtual attendance. You can access the recorded lectures (available online approximately three weeks after the conference) and then complete the online evaluation to claim credit. The session recordings are dependent on individual speakers giving permission for capture. The content is the presentation slides synchronized with the audio recording of the speaker’s voice.

GENERAL CONFERENCE

Where do I go when I arrive?
You will need to check in at the conference registration desk. The conference registration desk is separate from the hotel registration desk. Registered attendees will receive a “Know Before You Go” email approximately two weeks prior to the conference that will tell you where the conference registration desk is. You can also ask at the hotel front desk. You will receive your badge, an envelope with your registration receipt, a program book with a map of the session rooms, and a handy tote bag to carry it all in!

How do I get the conference app?
Approximately a week prior to the conference, registered attendees will receive an email with instructions and a password to download the app. The app is located in the App Store or Google Play by searching "ANN Conferences."

What is the attire for the conference?
Business casual. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes because some breakout sessions can be a bit of a walk at a large facility. Bring a sweater or light jacket as the temperature varies in large rooms.

What food and beverages does ANN provide?
We provide coffee and tea service each morning before the conference day begins and for the morning breaks. We provide iced tea and lemonade for the afternoon breaks. We provide lunch on the first full day of the conference. Watch the website as we may add a special reception(s) that includes food and beverages. We also have sponsored meals that are open to a limited number of attendees.

I have a disability and require special accommodations at the conference. How do I arrange for them?
We encourage participation by all individuals. If you are a person with a disability, please give us advance notice of any special arrangements you may need so we can best accommodate you.

I have a dietary restriction/food allergy. How do I request special dietary accommodations?
Please let us know of any dietary restrictions or food allergies during the registration process or as soon as possible once you have registered by emailing Charlene Fuhrer at charlene@ajj.com. We’ll do our best to accommodate you so you’ll have something to eat!

What is the preconference day?
Prior to the main conference sessions, these longer, in-depth workshops are provided addressing subjects that many nurses have requested we cover. There is a separate fee for the preconference sessions.

Which conference should I attend?
ANN offers an Advanced Practice Conference in the Spring. In the Fall, three conferences are offered. They run concurrently at the same venue. In addition, a special preconference session is offered in the Fall: The ANNual Symposium for Nurse Leaders. We do not restrict attendance, nurses are welcome to choose from any conference.

The three conferences are:
Neonatal Nurses – This conference is for nurses who work in Level II, III, and IV NICUs, from the novice nurse to the experienced practitioner.
Advanced Practice Neonatal Nurses – This conference is for NNPs, CNSs, and experienced staff nurses.
Mother Baby Nurses – This conference is for nurses who work with the expectant and postpartum mother and her newborn.

EVALUATIONS

How long do I have to complete my evaluations?
You have at least 30 days to complete your evaluations after the conclusion of the conference (the date will be given at the conference and on your evaluation instructions).

When evaluations are completed, where is my transcript?
Once the session evaluation(s) are completed, you will complete an Overall Conference Evaluation. When that is complete, you will see a button to “Print Transcript.” This will generate a CNE Certificate that lists all of the sessions you evaluated and a total of contact hours earned.

Why do I need an account with ANN to complete my evaluations?
ANN is an accredited provider of continuing nursing education; therefore, we maintain a CNE database of all conference attendees that is linked to our partners that host our online education. If you are not an ANN member, and do not wish to become one, you still need to create an online, non-member (free) account to access your CNE materials.

Once you have an online ANN account, member or non-member, you will need your username and password to access your evaluations and CE information.

To access our conference registration system for your payment receipt and conference registration details you need to use your email address plus the confirmation number that is emailed to you at the time you complete your online registration. If you register by mail, please contact the ANN office for assistance.

CANCELLATION/TRANSFERS

I need to cancel my registration. Can I get a refund?
You may request a refund by the cancellation deadline. All requests must be sent in writing via the ANN Contact Form, and an administrative fee of $50 will be retained, per ANN’s cancellation policy.

Can I substitute a colleague since I cannot attend?

  • Name of current registrant (yourself, or your employee)
  • Name of person who will be replacing that individual
  • Completed registration form of the replacement attendee (print the form and write in the margin “replacing [registrant’s name], already registered”. This can be sent via mail, fax (856-218-0557), or email to charlene@ajj.com.

In cases pertaining to medical emergencies, natural disasters, death of a loved one, court dates, and others of serious or unforeseeable nature, refunds beyond the deadline may be considered.
