Now Accepting Poster & Podium Abstracts

Submit Your Abstract Today
Abstracts for poster and podium presentations must be submitted by midnight June 17, 2019.

We invite you to share your knowledge and expertise with your advanced practice colleagues. Please consider submitting an abstract for a poster or podium presentation to present at this outstanding conference. Posters and podium presentations offer the perfect opportunity to network, exchange ideas, and improve the quality of nursing education for neonatal nurses.

Abstracts are welcome in three categories: Innovative Programs, Research, Case Studies and other topics related to neonatal nursing care.

Innovative Programs: Describe a program implemented in your practice setting which addresses challenges in nursing practice, education, or administration in neonatal care.

Research: Describe original research or knowledge translation. Include a description of the following: Statement of the problem, conceptual framework (if applicable), literature review, methodology, and data analysis and interpretation.

Case Studies: Describe the infant’s diagnosis, including incidence and etiology; an overview of the diagnostic process; management; discussion of outcomes; and implications for practice. The case discussion must comply with HIPAA regulations. The case must not be in litigation.

Presentations must avoid any semblance of commercialism: those constituting promotion and advertising are prohibited.

Each submission will be blind peer-reviewed by a minimum of three neonatal nurses.
Abstracts must be limited to 200 words.
You must submit one learner objective.


Poster Presentation Guidelines:

  1. Log on to the ANN Portal to begin the submission process
  2. Complete the required tasks
  3. Submit a Conflict of Interest Form for all coauthors
  4. Posters must avoid any semblance of commercialism; those constituting promotion and advertising are prohibited.
  5. Each submission will be blind peer-reviewed by a minimum of three neonatal nurses
  6. Presenters are expected to be at their posters and available for questions during specified times
  7. Attendees will earn contact hours for viewing and evaluating posters
  8. Poster presenters will be provided with a 4 ft. x 8 ft. corkboard display. Electrical outlets and tables will not be available

Poster Content Guidelines
As you prepare your poster for presentation, please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Ensure that the names and credentials of all authors are correctly spelled and listed in the correct order. The poster abstracts will be published in the Conference Proceedings section Neonatal Network: The Journal of Neonatal Nursing
  2. For research abstracts, be sure and include categories as outlined above
  3. Proofread your abstract and poster to ensure that each sentence makes sense and all the words are spelled correctly

All presenters are required to register and attend the full conference. All poster presenters will be responsible for their own travel and all expenses related to their presentation. Primary poster presenters receive a $50 discount off main conference tuition. This discount is offered to the primary presenter only and cannot be combined with any other discount.

PODIUM PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

  •  Log on to the ANN Portal to begin the submission process
  • Complete the required tasks
  • Submit a Conflict of Interest Form for all coauthors

General Podium (oral presentation) Information:

  • Each submission will be blind peer-reviewed by a minimum of three neonatal nurses
  • Each podium presentation will be limited to 20 minutes (including questions).
  • Podium presenters will be provided with an LCD projector, screen, and lectern with microphone. No other audio/visual equipment will be provided or may be used. 

Writing Your Abstract:

  • Abstracts must avoid any semblance of commercialism; those constituting promotion and advertising are prohibited.
  • Abstracts must be limited to 200 words.
  • Do not include references in your abstract.
  • State unit of measurement for lab results.
  • Spell out the first use of any acronym, e.g., large for gestational age (LGA)
  • You must submit one learner objective. 

All presenters are required to register and attend the full conference. All presenters are responsible for their own travel and all expenses related to their presentation. Podium presenters receive a $100 discount off main conference tuition. This discount is offered to the primary presenter only and cannot be combined with any other discount.
