Make the Most of Your Membership by Joining Colleagues Who Contribute! 

At the heart of our association are volunteers just like you. If you want to meet active neonatal nurses, stay up-to-date on association initiatives, contribute to our mission, and broaden your horizons we have numerous volunteer opportunities for you to consider. Whether you are looking for something that is short-term and low-commitment, or more in-depth with a committed group of colleagues, you will find rewarding opportunities available here. Micro-Volunteer Examples 
Short-term, single project, or one-time contributions.

  • Submit cover baby photos or photos of colleagues in the NICU.
  • Submit a recording for ANNTalks or The Nursing Report
  • Provide content to share on social media of relevant neonatal matters.
  • Submit case studies for resource toolkits.
  • Submit certification test preparation questions.
  • Suggest and/or review neonatal smart phone apps.
  • Join our Panel of Experts. Volunteers are called upon to review material or participate in initiatives within the Academy and in collaboration with other health care organizations. Volunteers will be selected according to their identified areas of interest.

CNE Reviewer
ANN is seeking nurses at all levels of expertise and experience to review continuing education courses prior to publication. Panel members are asked to review approximately two to four courses per year.

Contributing Editor
Do you like to write but need help getting started or choosing a topic? ANN newsletters might be a perfect fit or submitting a article to Neonatal Network might be more your style. Send us your information and we'll provide you with a list of current opportunities and topics of interest.


Committee Opportunities
Collaborate with small groups of committed colleagues, and the ANN staff, for longer-term involvement. 

Education Committee:
The Education Committee advises the executive committee on matters related to ANN’s education mission, and makes recommendations to nurse planners for future continuing nursing education (CNE) activities. They may also review, edit, and update enduring materials for continuing education, develop CNE materials, contribute topics and suggestions for ANN conferences, and contribute to social media. If you can volunteer two to four hours per month, please consider this rewarding opportunity and submit your CV or resume.

Executive Committee:
The Executive Committee is charged with supporting/assisting the Executive Director to carry out the mission statement of the academy. The Executive Committee members bring varying backgrounds and points of view to this process; these are valuable in determining the best course of action for the Academy. To be considered please submit your name below.

Communications Committee:
Become a regular contributor to the News of the Academy in each issue of Neonatal Network: The Journal of Neonatal Nursing. Write a feature article, write a book or website review, submit practice questions for certification. Collaborate with colleagues to discuss cutting edge topics to bring to the forefront.
