Every year ANN seeks to honor neonatal nurses who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to their patients and families. These are staff nurses, practitioners, educators, and nurse managers who inspire others, nurture success, and show creativity, intelligence, perseverance, and an unbending will to provide the best nursing care possible. If you know of a nurse that meets the criteria below, please nominate them for the Academy’s Excellence in Neonatal Nursing Practice Award by completing the online submission form below.

Criteria
The nominee must:

• Demonstrate excellence in neonatal nursing practice in whatever setting it may occur
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills
• Maintain current knowledge in her/his area of specialization
• Be an excellent role model
• Participate in professional or community service activities
• Must be a current Academy member or join ANN to become eligible for the award.
  
• Must not have previously received an Academy Excellence in Practice award

Nominating materials should include:

• A current CV of the nominee
• A letter OR video recording of no more than 1000 words indicating why the person nominated should be considered for this award.
  
• Any additional material that demonstrates why the person nominated should be considered for the award
• A completed nomination form. (The nominator will receive complimentary tuition to the upcoming national meeting.)

All nominations must be submitted to the Academy of Neonatal Nursing no later than June 1.

The recipient of the Excellence in Neonatal Nursing Practice Award will be presented with the award at ANN's fall national meeting. The Award includes:

• Complimentary registration to the national meeting
• Award plaque

Selection Process

The Academy of Neonatal Nursing Awards Committee will make recommendations to the ANN Executive Committee regarding the candidates for the award. Based on those recommendations, the Executive Committee will select one individual to be honored with the Excellence in Neonatal Nursing Practice Award. The recipient will be notified in July and the award will be presented at the national meeting. The Executive Committee reserves the right to not grant the award if the nominees do not meet the criteria.
