Neonatal Nursing Hall of Fame
The Academy of Neonatal Nursing (ANN) has established a Neonatal Nursing Hall of Fame. Inductees considered for the Hall of Fame are neonatal nurses who have demonstrated a lifelong commitment to nursing, influenced the path of this profession, and made a significant or lasting contribution to the nursing care or health outcome of newborns.
 
Criteria
The nominee:
  • must be a nurse
  • may be living or deceased
  • need not be an ANN member
  • has used strategies such as innovation, patient advocacy, leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration, evidence-based practice, and education to demonstrate visionary and passionate health promotion of newborns
  • has made a significant contribution of historic importance and enduring value to neonatal nursing that extends or is expected to extend beyond the nominee’s lifetime
Nominating materials should include:
  • a summary of no more than 200 words indicating why the person nominated should be considered for induction in the Neonatal Nursing Hall of Fame
  • any additional information that demonstrates why the person nominated should be considered for this honor
  • a completed nomination form
All nominations will be presented to the Academy of Neonatal Nursing Awards Committee for consideration.

Recognition of the inductee:
Inductees will be selected by the Academy of Neonatal Nursing Awards Committee and will be announced at the Academy’s Spring Conference.
  • If the inductee can attend the conference, the following applies:
    • Complimentary registration at the Spring conference
    • Presentation of a plaque noting the induction of the nurse into the Neonatal Nursing
Hall of Fame Selection Process:
  • The Academy of Neonatal Nursing Awards Committee is made up of several ANN member volunteers and one member of the ANN Executive Committee.
  • The ANN Awards Committee may select one or more individuals to be inducted into the Neonatal Nursing Hall of Fame each year.
  • The inductee is notified by January 1 and inducted into the Neonatal Nursing Hall of Fame at the Spring conference.
  • If nominees do not meet the criteria for induction in a given year, ANN’s Awards Committee reserves the right to induct no one.
